If this is the case, in demanding £250, their conduct may be unlawful, in breach of their code of practice, unprofessional, and likely to bring their profession into disrepute. Why not ask their regulatory body

what they think. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Hi all, I am 5 weeks away from a hearing. But further evidence has emerged and I have decided to settle the matter out of court. The initial sum they asked for was £244.76, but they are now pursuing extra costs that they've incurred since and have increased the amount to £295.92. I know that they woulf have incurred a 'hearing cost' of £25 and perhaps the rest relates to further legal fees. Is it common for the amount to increase? Should we pay it? I'm trying to be assertive about only paying the initial £244.76, but I'm still waiting for a response from the parking company.0

Their costs will be thrown out. Do not pay them a penny, what part of SCAM do you not understand. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

WHy are you settling?
What "evidence" and why is it so important?
Theyre smelling blood and so just trying for whatever they can do.
I hope you are titling offers as "without predjucice save as to costs"? Yes or no...0 -
You can't suddenly introduce new evidence so what has happened?0

Waamo - they can if the documetns havent been exchanged. Even if they have, they can try to, and with 5 weeks before it would be a struggle to see how this prejudices either side.0
