Ooh that really has warmed my cockles (whatever they may be ) :T

On the subject of car park tickets I always used to do this but now Worcester, Droitwich, Evesham- whole of Worcestershire really, have made you type in your registration number on your ticket so they are now non-transferable. Mean-minded council round here

There are still nice people in the world!

I did my "good deed" for the day earlier when I drove into Sainsbury's petrol station behind someone & noticed they had a brake light out, so told him. He was so grateful, said thanks about 10 times, you'd have thought I'd just given him the winning lottery numbers! Obviously not used to people being nice to him, probably thought I was some loony coming over to give him a load of verbal!

My Good deed for the day has been allowing an unknown cat into my house poor thing was terrified cos of the fireworks  - unfortunately it won't leave & is spitting at me from my daughters bedroom now:eek: Any OS suggestions would be gratefully received :D
  • We had a rogue starling in our hotel room yesterday and dh caught it by dropping a bathsheet over it and scooping it up. Maybe that would work. Then all the reception staff asked him why he was carrying one of their bathsheets out of the main door of the hotel (to release it). Then I found it had pooed in the bath so I had to clean that up in case the chambermaid thought it was us!!!!!

Edited to say: Good for you for taking it in temporarily

    Hi advent

Just leave until the morning - he is obviously distressed. If you need to get out of bedcroom put a box in for him (or her) to crawl in!

Lovely to see you have done this. Pets hate this weekend.

    Major lurker here;)

A short tale to warm the cockles :A

Whilst doing the weekly shop in Mr Ts on Saturday morning I joined the checkout behind a chap who seemed to be buying up the shop . He was putting loads through and filling a large trolley - obviously a party of some sort.

Anyhoo - when all had gone through his total bill was around £430 . The lady on the checkout asked him if he was collecting the Tesco School Sport Vouchers - he said no and then asked me if I would like them :T . After I had snapped his hand off for them (I work in a school) I thanked him nicely.

She then asked if he had a club card, again he said no, then turned and asked if I had one, on saying yes I did he said hand it over to the checkout lady then - blow me I got his £400 worth of clubcard points as well - worth around £16 on deals - woo hoo :T :j

I asked what he was buying for and it was a group organised firework party (paid in £50 notes as well). So despite a bit of a wait it came up trumps.

    Some people are sooooooooo nice.:o

I bet most people would not have wanted to get stuck behind HIM in the checkout queue, with a load like that to go through the till! How kind of him though.

I don't usually go into Tesco's but whenever I do, I always look around for somebody to give my till receipt and any vouchers to. My other favourite 'good deed' is to pass my 'day-saver bus ticket' to whoever is at the bus stop when I get off the last bus I've travelled on that day - have to do that one very quickly though as they are not supposed to be transferable.

I always pass our daysavers or family daysavers to anyone waiting at the bus queue when we're done with them.
