I don't know if it's all wired properly or not, I assume so as it is kind of working and nothing's exploded! It was an electrician who changed the thermostat but I don't know what he did with regards to the temperature settings.
As you have recently had work done on the system, I would suggest that you contact the workmen concerned and ask them for advice. Checking immersion heaters and thermostats is a 5 minute job for an electrician. He also needs to check that time clock is working properly.
