Options
Hi All,

Anyone else with Nationwide unable to view your reserve limit?

Just popped on mine to see where it stands and nothing is there now to see it.

Thanks

  • I mean like it’s completely not there, no link at all for reserve limit.

What's a reserve limit? Do you mean your overdraft limit?

It's the amount by which you can exceed any authorised overdraft limit. As I understand it, from my own online area and the help files on the Nationwide website, if you don't have an agreed overdraft facility you will not have a reserve limit.

It's a bloody daft idea. My account has a £5000 overdraft limit and £500 reserve on top of that. If I was in enough trouble to have to use the whole of my overdraft, the worst thing the bank could do is let me have another £500. I haven't checked but, no doubt, the reserve would have a different interest rate to the overdraft. i.e. much higher.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
  • I have an overdraft, and before when I checked the reserve limit was £10 higher than the overdraft given.

But all I was asking is can anyone else still see the reserve limit at all, as I cannot.

If they cannot offer you something it would be at zero, but not there being no link to view it all together.
  • The direct link is https://onlinebanking.nationwide.co.uk/AccountAdministration/ManageOverdraftReservedLimit

I tried that even when logged in and get an error, so assume they have intentionally removed it for good :(
  • That’s what I thought, that they’d removed it, that’s a shame.
  • Just to add to the post, I wrote to Nationwide and got a response today.

They will no longer allow members to know the reserve limit (although it still exists) as too many people were using this information as to extend there overdraft.
