Can anyone tell me if digs4dogs pay the people who look after dogs for their owners. There's no mention of it on their website. Thanks

Which one? There seem to be several websites with that sort of name.0

Sorry i thought it was a franchise nationwide. My local one is Digs for dogs Bury.

from the blog on their website
There is no cost involved for anyone who takes part and there is a payment to say ‘thank-you’ for taking good care of our four-legged friend.0 -
Anyone know what the payment is? Seems a bit vague considering it is such an expensive service for the dog owner.0

Are you thinking of using them or offering your services?0

I was thinking of offering my services.0

I would think details would be given when you applied otherwise you wouldn't know what you were getting in to.
One thing that struck me is that there are regulations around looking after someone else's pet in your own home for payment. That may be why they say a 'thank you' , to avoid the regulations.

Another thing that would concern me as a pet owner using the service there is no mention of a background check on the hosts. Nor if they have a first aid qualification.0 -
My friend uses them for her dog - she reckons the family that had her last summer got paid a nominal fee - around £10-£15 in total for the 5 days.
It's basically good for people who want a dog but can't have one permanently - not something that actually makes you any money.
Personally I'd never use a service like this or Borrow my Doggy.0 -

I have used a franchise similar to this in my area very successfully. It really depends on the individual franchisee and how committed they are. I know the one I used turned down unsuitable hosts. I used two different host families and had the opportunity to meet them in their home with my dog first so we couid ask each other all the questions we needed to. Both were experienced dog owners who couldn't have a pet of their own due to individual circumstances.
I agree you have to be careful but I was happy with the service provided. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
