Good Morning, Oldstylers :hello: - wet start to the day here on Merseyside. So pleased that I got that laundry done yesterday - even if it DID get wet again on the line before I could get it ndoors .............. at least it's all dry now :j.

nmlc - Thanks for starting today's thread :T. Hope all goes well for Mum's foot and good luck in work today.

Nelski - Thanks for the news on HollyHarvey - good to know that she's getting the peace she needs before going for her op. Hope they got her regular meds sorted for her. Please include me in the 'good wishes from Oldstyle' :). Make sure that you take 'some time out' this weekend - don't burn yourself out.

camelot1001 - Wow, you made an early start this morning :j. Enjoy your trip to the shops for some Autumn clothes :D. It's a job that I hate - usually end up grabbing something in A$DA, or resorting to my catalogue :(.

ScarletRibbons - busy day ahead - enjoy your weekend.

LaineyT - Hope the guys manage to get the hay in out of the rain quickly. How lovely that you managed a kitchen clearout - desperately need one here too :(.

~taff - Hope you and OH manage to get your bed sorted soon. I'm absolute rubbish when I'm not getting 'proper sleep' - best of luck with it. Sorry to hear about your HM soup - sometimes it just HAS to go ..................

WeeMidgie - Oh dear - only 4deg this morning brrrr. Remember waking up one morning on holiday (Glen Nevis) feeling cold at this time of year - on opening the curtains everywhere was WHITE ......................... we went to Aonach Mor and had Hot Chocolate up at the Ski Centre :j! Enjoy your Coffee Morning and knitting :D.

Thinking about TA's and all others who aren't well or caring for other sick/elderly people.

Decided to 'have a go' at fixing the rivet on a Mulberry Handbag last night. Discovered that it wasn't actually 'snapped' - it was a screw that had 'come apart'. Had to unpick the lining to reassemble the 2 pieces inside the bag and then got the little 'head' back in place on the outside. Noticed that it needed tightening with a 'tiny posidrive' from the inside - so all now fixed, lining restitched and ready to use again :j.

No plans for today - just see what happens ........... maybe I'll be like LaineyT, and have a good kitchen sort/clean ;)!

Gluten-free Sausages, Potato Waffles, Eggs and Baked Beans for evening meal tonight.

Have a lovely Oldstyle Day, everybody .

oops crossed posted with a few people -

ancientofdays - Sounds like your day will be the same as mine. I'm sure that you'll find something to help pass the the time.

Gers - enjoy your shopping trip with your DM and her friend ;)! Hope it's dry and not too cold where you are.

redruby - enjoy your shopping trip with DD and your meal tonight :j. Good to hear that your friend is improving.

JackieO - enjoy your 'pottering' today :D.
  • Morning ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Its a nasty morning, raining, but no grumbles we need the rain.

Thanks for the news re Holly Nelski, so pleased she is feeling happier, fingers crossed all goes well for her op.

No news from Mrs TA. ((((((((hugs)))))))).

OH announced this morning that he wants to drop the carers, he is so much better, I said no, we agreed to have them for 4 weeks, I will see how he is then. He is moaning about his plate hurting his gum, I am wondering if there is a bit of tooth left, advised him to wash his mouth out with dissolvable aspirin, if there is any soreness it will help it to heal.

We managed a bit of gardening yesterday, no chance today. I have a carrot cake in the oven, its ages since I made one, hope its ok. DGD requested it for tea tomorrow.

We are off to the harvest supper tonight.....hope it has stopped raining by then.

    Hello all
I have vacated 'Arry Potters cupboard, it was a tad cosy but glad I had a roomy in Organza L. It is now currently unoccupied so feel free to use it anytime :rotfl:.
Thank you all for your support over the last few days, it has meant so much to me :A:A
I went with Dad to the surgery yesterday and had a few sharp words with them as Dad was getting nowhere fast. Anyway Dad ended up in the E.A. unit in the hospital where we resided for 5 hrs . However we now have a plan :j. He has seen a chest consultant and will be going to his clinic, he has to have a cat scan, physiotherapy and one antibiotic tablet per day, for life. So this morning I collected his tablets from the chemist and took them up. I got soaked and it was freezing !
Came home to find DD waiting with a load of parcels for me to stash away. I think we are fast becoming the new toys r us :rotfl:.
This afternoon I shall clean the upstairs and strip the bed, but there is no chance of drying the bedding outside, so I shall defer the wash till tomorrow.
Tea tonight will be a Chinese takeaway :j .

I have been reading along but I don't think I have taken much in, other than a few people have family members who are poorly, so I will send everyone huge hugs.

Holly hope you are being looked after well and feel safe and comfortable.
TA and MrTA you are in my thoughts, as always.

    Take care all
    I blummin love you lot :D :A :D

I am so glad Holly is being looked after in a kind and considerate way and is being helped to prepare emotionally for the operation. Thanks to nelski for keeping us in touch and hugs to holly.

Thoughts and hugs to the TAs,speky's gran and nannywindow.

I got the bus to meet a dd in York and she chose some clothes that she wanted for her birthday so I took them home and will wrap them nicely. I already have bought presents and wrapped them up for her twin so that does not leave a lot to do. Cards and more wrapping paper have been bought.

I got home and found a card for "Grandparent's day" which is tomorrow and dd and sil have insisted they take me for lunch tomorrow which is so sweet of them.

Having a cuppa with my feet up after going round the shops earlier and have just put a large cast iron pot with brisket, carrots, onions and parsnips into the oven to cook slowly.

The tumble drier and dishwasher have done their stuff so I am now in a dressing gown and slippers with feet up and might rouse myself to do a little gentle wrapping.

    Hugs to all

Just got a salmon steak in my remoska at the moment and some new potatoes and cabbage and carrots for dinner tonight .Weathe ris awful nearly dark outsied and rainy but I am tucked up indoors with my wireless on and some knitting and feet up perfect afternoon :)

DGS Jack messaged me to say his lap-top has finally died on him it was third hand about two years ago so its lasted well .

So I shall be looking to get him a new one when he comes home for the weekend next week Bless him he has no TV, and so is a bit lost at Uni without anything at the moment. But I will also be sourcing him perhaps a tiny tv as well if I can .

Baby ball knitting is going well and so far I have stashed £90 which I am pleased with and today my next Thursday totals are up to seven already so another possible £20.00 next week as well.
Right time for some coffee I think

Have a good evening chums and <<hugs>> to those who are in need

Quick update - evening meal plan went 'right out the window' because I forgot to take the sausages out of the freezer before popping out this afternoon .

Had ordered a 'washing line prop' and 'new half-price Tefal frying pan' from Argo$ (used a £25 Incentive Gift Card to pay for them - so they were FREEEE!). As I HAD to pass Mr T's to get back from Argo$, would have been very rude not to check out bargains ;)! Lovely Roast-in-the-Bag Chicken (£2.50 down from £5.00) which is currently in my Halogen (without its bag) and pots/carrots/green beans in the steamer :j. Also picked up some bits for Stir-Fry for tomorrow and a fresh lettuce for next week.

Freebie Flat White in Costa (courtesy of points) with a Gluten Free Mince Pie (first of the season).

Had £3.25 left on gift card, so used that towards a new set of earphones for my phone (love listening to music on-the-go) that should have cost £9.99 - so another bargain :j!
