If you pay for your tax using monthly direct debit, the payments are cancelled by the DVLA I feel your MOT runs out.
I'm not sure if this happens if you purchase your tax annually.0 -

I heard it on this forum, someone had their tax cancelled because they forgot about their MOT, they had a bigger problem as they got clamped by DVLA, but couldn't tax the car as they had no MOT.0

if you pay monthly and go pass a anpr and it flags that your mot is out you will get a letter from the dvla to say get a mot on it and it will process the next next month but if you dont it will be cancelled and you will have to reapply0

If you pay VED monthly, there's no need for anyone to check on your MOT status until the anniversary. It is legal to have a car with no MOT but be taxed, and vice versa and other combos too. Generally, no MOT means you shouldn't be driving it on public roads, no tax means it shouldn't be on the road. If you park it up on the road but don't drive it, then you wouldn't need MOT but would need tax. If it's parked up on your drive, you might not want/need either but could have both etc. The 2 are separate.
No idea what the OP is on about. Must be expensive to tax the vehicle where they live, otherwise why pay UK tax if not driving on UK roads. Having said that, why tax it all if they aren't in the UK?0 -

Wrong! It is illegal to keep a car with no MOT on a public road. The only exception is when driving the vehicle to and from an MOT test which has been booked in advance, ie you cannot drive an un-MOT'd car to an MOT test on spec."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
