    "Let your insurer's fight the battle - that's what you pay your premiums for.

    The Carer using his/her own vehicle and its taxation/insurance and indeed the drivers license is something you should raise via your Social Worker - I'm sure it will be part of their contract and they should have procedures to ensure this is in place."

    So the police don't bother to check number plates to see if the car ahead of them is taxed/insured? Must just be on the telly then. And all those cars that have been towed cos they're not taxed?

    Where did I say that? The key word is "normally". Untaxed vehicles are often subject to a postal fine or clamping by the DVLA.
