Hi sorry I have read through the newbies FAQ but am some what dim. I have my POPLA code - now what. Am at the stage of giving up and just paying the bloody thing. Basically parked at the Portswood Centre car park unaware of the 2 hour restriction that applies 24hrs a day. Basically I either pay, ignore or appeal.
I’ve found some templates but with all the terminology and abbreviations this has thrown me off. Have literally only just registered with MSE too...
TIA x
Can anyone help. Sorry again.

This forum is full of threads relating to appealing.
The NEWBIES thread has definitions of abbreviations and instructions on what to do.
The POPLA DECISIONS thread has numerous examples of successful appeals.
If you are still haven't a clue, then you are probably right to just pay up as you suggest. There is only so much unpaid volunteer MSE members can do to help and we need to help those who are able to put in some effort themselves.0 -
It is confusing, but if you want to avoid payment you have to follow certain procedures, just the same as getting a driving licence, or learning a language, there are no short cuts.
My son, a Civil Engineer, has had several tickets from scammers, and has paid them all, simply because it is less hassle. It is your choice.
However, if you do pay, the money will be used to buy inflatables to ferry illegal immigrants across the Med, import hard drugs, working girls from Bosnia, and fake Nikes. Your choice.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by ChristYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I received a PCN back in August from Britannia relating to Portswood Centre Car Park. I was going to send POPLA appeal next week but yesterday I got confirmation from the Land Management Company (CBRE) that they have cancelled the charge.
How long was the car parked for? Did the occupants of the car spend money in Portswood Centre? Or in other Portswood businesses and do they still have the receipts? It is well worth contacting the company, look for examples of how to do so on the Newbies' thread.
Awkward as it is, DO NOT indicate who was driving on this forum or to the Land Management Company and certainly not to Britannia.
When I found this forum I felt both hopeful & completely inadequate. But keep reading and start noting links that may be useful (or whatever works for you). How long have you got to prepare?
I get the impression that Britannia is getting more ruthless than it used to be so fighting back feels good! There's a lot wrong with that car park too, it's a very confusing one.0 -

OP you say you aren't aware of revealing who was the driver
But you need to edit your OP to remove details of who was driving because the PPCs monitor this forum and can use posts in your threwad against you0 -
