Entered wrong reg into App - my ex husband is the registered keeper

Hi
Please be gentle with me, I've read all the newbie advice, but I'm not 100% about what my best course of action is.
Bit of background, the car I drive is registered to my ex husband (who doesn't live with me) we are very amicable so when he didn't have any change for parking he asked me to use my App to pay for his parking. All fine, apart from the last week when I parked the car I drive (registered to him), but paid for parking for the car he drives. I've had two letters addressed to him but sent to my house, one from Euro Car Parks and one from CP Plus - British Land.
What's the best course of action, should I return the letters to sender as it's addressed to my ex and he obviously doesn't live with me, he has also just renewed his driving licence so the DVLA know his current address. I don't want to cause any problems for my ex with bad credit, so what's my best course of action? Do I fill out the online appeal form and say that I've received two PCN's, but who they are addressed to are not known at the address or is there a better way of doing it? I can prove it was an honest mistake as I have the details still logged on my App, but I guess that doesn't matter to these 'companies'
Thanks in advance
Claire

Why not separate them out into two threads as each has to be dealt with in a different way depending on the dates.
So either close this one down and start two new ones or keep the Euro Car Parks on this one.
Luckily both are British Parking Association members which means both are POPLA appeals. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
And he thinks that's all he has to do? He must also tell the DVLA of the correct address where the car HE uses is kept, to change the V5c. Nothing to do with driving licence address. He can get a (proper) DVLA fine if he doesn't tell them to update the V5c of the car that's not kept at your house.he has also just renewed his driving licence so the DVLA know his current address.
Do you want to rescue his cases by doing the appeals, or is he better to do it? Are you on amicable terms and you are more the admin person?
When I say you doing it as an option, I do NOT mean admitting you were driving.
How come the first one resulted in a parking charge, was it the time to actually pay via the app, seeing as you say that was made for the right car wasn't it?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

His is a Commercial Vehicle which is registered to our business address - and kept there.
We still work together, so it's not an issue for us to sort it out between us, but as it was me who entered the wrong reg I do feel it's my responsibility to sort it out, unless it is best coming from him, in which case I'm sure he will help me if it's best the appeal comes from him.
To Clarify
Euro Car Park fine 22.9.18 - 15:25 - 17:25 (2 hours paid on the App) reason for PCN No Valid Pay & Display was purchased
CP Plus - 22.9.18 19:100 - 20:32 (2 hours paid on the App) reason for PCN They do not have evidence that a sufficient parking payment was made to cover the duration of the visit.
So is it best toI lodge an appeal against both of them and go from there? Should I do it on behalf of my Ex and not admit I know who the driver is, but how will that work with knowing that the App is in my name?0 -
Unless you admit to driving, it will all fall on him as Registered Keeper .0
-
So should I just ask my ex to use the template in the Newbie section and go through their appeals process , even though it mentions about signage etc rather than I just paid for the wrong car?0
-
Yes he does that, or (if easier) you do that x 2, online, in his name and giving his email.
CP Plus will cancel immediately. They cannot hold him liable as keeper, so NEVER tell them who was driving! Easy one for him to beat as keeper, using the template.
As for ECP, they won't. They will take it to POPLA stage and they fight. Tell us more about that one, was that the one you used the wrong VRN carried forward by the phone app, or was it another contravention, and is that the Commercial Vehicle or not and is the actual keeper the company on the V5?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The Euro Car Parks PCN is exactly the same scenario as the CP Plus, I inputted his registration into the APP, but parked the car I drive there.
The reference to the commercial vehicle was only to clarify that it is registered to a business address and is kept there, whereas the car I drive is still kept at my house but he needs to change the registered address with the DVLA for that one.0 -
So as expected BPA cancelled the PCN immediately and the registered keeper has been refused their appeal by Euro Car Parks and we have a POPLA code. I've read the Newbie sticky, but I'm still unsure which course of action to take?0

POPLA appeal, as per the third post of the Sticky for NEWBIES, or copy any recent ECP one and cross your fingers it wins.
Also read the most recent POPLA Decisions thread (not from the start, years ago - read from the END!) to see what to do when people lose at POPLA, as there is a recent ECP loss right there (a big fat so what, please don't ask if you should pay the scam)!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
