you don't know the full picture. Barclays should not have let the loans go through if they carried out the affordability checks.

These are exactly the sort of affordability checks you should have considered before you made the application - don't blame the bank for exactly the same sort of recklessness and irresponsibility you yourself display....

You need to head over the DFW (Debt-Free Wannabe) board and post up your Statement of Affairs (SOA). That way you will receive targeted and non-judgemental support and advice.

Barclays came to your rescue. Without them by your own admission, your 1 year old, new baby and niece would have starved. Pay them back please, as best you can.

I am a little surprised that Barclays gave you £50k credit so soon after stretching yourself on your mortgage in 2010. Were you 100% honest in your applications, in particular mentioning your soon-to-be-3 dependents?

If you carried out your own checks then why continue with application?

No funeral comes to 25K so there was no need to borrow that amount to begin with so why did you?

Secondly I apprciate you took your neice in but 1 extra mouth does not equate to a need for a further 25K as she already would have had clothes ect from her mums house

Yes was totally honest on the application.
In fact i didn't really need to put anything in as most of the information was already filled out due to us recently taking a mortgage out with them. In addition to this they know and see our incomes as our current account was also with them.:)
