Kitchen sink drainpipe leak

Quick question. I had new kitchen tap fitted last week and today I've noticed a small leak from the top bit on the drainpipe. I have tightened it but it's still leaking. I assume it's a new washer I need? I would really rather not call plumber out again as already shelled out to pay for new taps.
I've watched a few videos on YouTube and it looks straightforward. My question is do I need to switch the main water off to do this?
Thanks

I love a bargain and saving money! I don't have any debts and mortgage repaid in 2020

There may already be a inline valve just below the tap . The You tube videos will show you how to turn this off using a flatbladed screwdriver - just turn through 90 deg.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I don't see one( Google it to see what it looks like) . Took a pic but I don't think I can attach it here.

Why not call the plumber back, if its leaking so soon they should fix it for £0.0

Quick question. I had new kitchen tap fitted last week and today I've noticed a small leak from the top bit on the drainpipe.
Sorry but can you clarify. What is the 'drain pipe'?
Do you mean part of the new tap itself or the somewhere where the water drains away from the basin below when you pull out the plug?
If it's the latter, then you probably need to completely unscrew the large nut holding the waste pipe up to the basin. Clean everything off and use some 'Plumbers Mait' around the threaded part and screw the nut back up. There are good youtube videos on how to do this. No need to turn the water off to do this.
If you mean a leak from somewhere on the new tap itself, then as said before, call the plumber out again to fix it - he shouldn't charge you.0
