in Credit cards
have recently discovered 6 x £12 charges for late payment of direct debit levied on my wifes Barclaycard account although payments were made on due date. Barclaycard say charges were
because D.D amount was not same as minimum payment on statement. Always thought D.D. payments were auto adjusted as min. payment fluctuated. Thats how my cards work. In one case
charge made when min payment was 11pence over sum debited. Help.

If its a Direct debit then barclaycard are stipulating the amount to be paid from your wifes bank account and the date also, so then thats their error and they shouldnt charge you anything.
If its a Standing Order YOU have stipulated the wrong amount and its your error.You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
I agree with lindens, it sounds as if you have set up a standing order which is not the same as a DD.Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

I also know a few credit card companies that will let you set up a fixed sum DD - if this is the case they wouldnt adjust it if minimum payment goes above this and would be up to cardholder to make up difference themselves0
