Taking a iPost Delivery Company to a Small Claims Court

Hi All,
Before I proceed with this, it would be good to get a second opinion (s) as to whether proceed with this.
I sent a BMW Radio unit via these guys (iPost) and UK Mail as they otherwise known as and I can confirm it wasn't one of there prohibited items.
I took the extra insurance out (£300) incase anything like this happening and and then made the necessary claim for the damage caused. I then received a letter to say that because of insufficient packaging that they're not willing to pay out but I can appeal via email.
I made the email but got nothing back, I then emailed 4 times for an update but I got no response back. It was only when I emailed the CEO that I got an response back, the response was as of follows:
In regards to the packaging used to protect your item, I can advise that a thin sheet of foam and scrunched up paper is not solid enough to protect your item from any falls, drops or shunts. As stated in our T&cs, we do admit that there will be times where a parcel may have a fall or drop and recommend to have your parcel sufficiently packaged and protected.
As mentioned above, using a thin sheet of foam and scrunched up paper is not sufficient or solid enough to offer protection to your item from an unfortunate fall, drop or shunt. For this reason, your claim will remain closed.
I feel that they are using any excuse to get out of not paying any compensation out and I don't want to let them get away with it.
Any help of suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Did you read and follow their guidance on how to pack a parcel?

A similar topic came up a few weeks ago although it was Royal Mail who they sent an item with, at the end of the day you failed to package the item sufficiently so it's your fault the item got damaged. No insurance will cover you failing to package something adequately.0
