Just to be clear, in case anyone is wondering, sacking a Forces hero with PTSD would be an economic nightmare. That's why I asked. It wasn't clear, but there are PTSD claims that the whole world supports, and ones they don't. I make no judgement on whether that is the right judgement. I simply observe...0

It is stressful, hence, the reason I'm off sick.
I have overwhelming evidence to support my ET claim, initially, my employer never thought this would get to the stage it has, neither did I.
Although I've been off sick for 8 weeks, prior to this, my employers decision was to relocate me due to the contining harrassment.
I do have legal support who belive I have an overwhelming case.
PTSD is the companies OH Dr who came up with that terminology.
I appreciate all the replies, even tho, the postings may not be in my favour.I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0 -
You have a lawyer?
Why on earth are you asking us? You need to ask them!0 -

No offence intended but inst PTSD banded about rather a lot...a teacher at my son"s school is leaving as she has PTSD due to a child of 13yrs old calling her a nasty name.
Yes im sure the name was hurtful and no doubt upset the teacher, however PTSD really...?
My grandfather was a veteran of the Burma conflict...poor so and so was sunk twice once by the Americans and then the Japanese and end up in labour camps.
Now no one ever diagnosed him with PTSD but id say the old boy would fit the bill...we do seem to love giving ourselves and others labels.0 -

With respect, I don't want the label, the label is an interpretation following an OH assessment for my employer.
It's worth pointing out, although I received psychiatric treatment during my difficult period many years ago, never has anyone qualified in psychiatric / phycological medicine diagnosed me with PTSD.
Given the issues that reopened the wounds, the OH Dr diagnosed I was suffering with PTSD, all within a 45 minute OH medical work assessment,I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0 -

My question/thoughts was not directed at you..ive no idea about your background, you may well have such a condition.
It was more general...same as ive said before about it seems more and more people say they are bullied in the work place or harassed, again that might be true or maybe people are just more sensitive and like putting labels on situations that are not there.0 -

It's an interesting observation: one the one hand, the number of thin-skinned and precious snowflakes seems to be ever-increasing; on the other, some of the sort of behaviour which may have been termed 'banter' some years ago is as increasingly unacceptable as the sort of casual sexism and racism which also characterised attitudes of 30+ years ago. Where you fall on this spectrum of opinion seems to closely correlate to your political opinions, I've observed.
Finally, and with reference to another throw-away slogan, it's very much a 'first world problem',ie associated with peace and prosperity. In places in the world where there is poverty and war, or even times when this country faced those perils, there weren't these sorts of "problems".0 -
Unless the OH physician has a background in mental health then I would personally take that diagnosis with a pinch of salt. Ours was a GP with additional specialty of occupational health and would never make such a diagnosis without input from psychiatry - what they may do is make reference to whether the work situation was exacerbating a condition.
If you are genuinely suffering then discuss with your GP for a referral to MH services. This will then give you a definitive diagnosis and a treatment plan.
(note - being seen by MH may take a while unless you are a risk to yourself or others)0
