Then after 12 months, I would just apply to buy the property with my partner?
Your partner would not have the right to buy. Also, you would not be entitled to the right to buy as you are not the secure tenant. Therefore at least one of your parents would need to be on the application.
In the year that you (and maybe your partner) move in with your parents, if something happens to your parents then you may not be entitled to inherit the tenancy and would therefore be homeless. Also, if something were to happen and they were to need care then the Council could move them out and again you'd be homeless.0 -

The parents would need to be granted the mortgage.
Unless the OP was granted joint tenancy. But that would usually require him to live with his parents in the house for two years.
I think the upcoming issues with retirement, pension, benefits, social care, etc make this risky.0 -
Wouldn't it make more sense for your parents to move out, you all buy a place together, and then rent out your council house privately raking in the profits? That could be more fun and you could laugh at all the taxpayers who provided your rental propertyAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0
