Morning everyone,
Thanks for letting us know about Holly Nelski gggrr on the junior doctor, let’s hope the consultant is more helpful. Please give her my best wishes when you next speak x
It’s very misty here this morning but not cold, a typical autumnal day. Apart from waking up when my DOH came in late from a footie match I slept right through last night and feel better for it. I am popping out to the shops first thing and then have some work to complete, usual routine this afternoon of seeing Lu. My knee is still too painful to ride so will do some inhand work with her instead.
So many of our friends seem to be struggling at the moment, my thoughts are with all of you and hope you all have the best day possible.
Take care folks x0 -
Morning all
Very Misty here in my bit of the village this morning Dolly has been walked and is now on guard duty near the window as the window cleaners have turned up next door.
Holly I hope you had a good night and your medication problems can be resolved today
Dumpling I am glad you had a good chat with the crisis team and I hope Lee and Steve get on ok at the meeting
Nels might see you after your audience with the queen as DH and I are off to see Bat out of hell tonight with some friends
Speky I hope your gran has improved a little
Right I am off to deal with my mums two texts this morning DD2 did warn me that she would be in touch as she is worried about DD2 as she is having a hard time at work getting lots of mixed shifts during the week lates, earlys and nights and she is having to fight to get her days off .
Right as always hugs and gentle thoughts to the TA's ,Poppy and Taff and all those who are unwell or who have worries
Have a great day whatever you are up toSlava Ukraini0 -
Good morning everyone, hugs for Holly, taff, Polly, TA, Csarina and dumpling, Spekky and anyone else dealing with challenges.
After my very active day on Tuesday I had a quieter day yesterday. The Reiki swap was lovely and we're repeating it next Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it already!
Today my new veg box arrives, so the week's menus will then be planned. There are always carrots and onions, and I've listed a few things to not send. I enjoy the seasonal lucky dip from nature's bounty, and the freshness and flavours are superb.
I hope you have the best day possible. xxx0 -
Morning all from a dull and dank Mehefinland
Haven't posted for a little while but been keeping tabs on you lot. Gosh I feel as if we are all going through the wringer in some form or other. I apologise if I don't mention you all by name, it's not my strongpoint unfortunately. However hugs and spoons to those in need but especially the TAs. the experiences they are under going at the hospice brought back lots of memories of when we did something similar with my old Dad, some good, some not so.
Lainey do you supplement Lu's feed in any way? Sounds like there is a trace element (possibly selenium) deficiency if she is always losing shoes. Could understand it if you were on deep clay soils but you said it was light and sandy if memory ( getting deficient there) serves me correctly. Sounds like you need some bute yourself :rotfl:
My visit to the sawbones last week ended up with an emergency appointment at the opticians:eek: I have now been provisionally diagnosed with having a cataract which is obscuring the vision in my right eye, and the beginnings of one in my left eye. Got to have the dreaded dilating drops in next week so they can have a proper look. Not an enjoyable experience. More than a bit miffed as I only had new specs in March and nothing was mentioned then. Thought my eyes were taking an age to adjust to the new varifocals! Never mind, its fixable; and there are others on here with far greater problems .
Spent yesterday removing brambles from the paddock, it was like the original Jumanji film in there! Today its a trip to the lotties with some poo. What a rich life I lead:D
All for now.

Dumpling, I'm sorry you're having a bad time, try not to beat yourself up about Lee's meting, I hope that goes well.
Holly, if you're reading, I hope you have success with the consultant.
Speky, I hope your Gran is better.
Nanny, I hope you feel a bit better today.
VERY BORING POST BELOW!
I forgot to say yesterday that Laura had her bag stolen on Tuesday evening at a restaurant. She was working so had her work laptop in it, plus her notebook and her purse. Luckily her phone keys and a debit card were in her pockets so she didn't lose them. When she phoned her bank one of her other cards had already been used in a contactless transaction in a local Sainsbury's. She got CCTV footage from the restaurant and Sainsbury's and they recognised the woman as someone who went in a lot buying scratchcards. The security guard said he'd apprehend her if he saw her again. Brian then got a phone call from someone who'd found the notebook which must have had his number in it. She was relieved about that because it had all the notes from the Mexican trip she went on which she still has a couple of articles still to write. She lost a couple of interviews on the laptop though and her wallet was Mulberry one which was a birthday present from Brian.
Steve has been going round in circles with the pension people who have been trying to tell him he's paid too much in, he finally talked to someone today who told him how they generated the letter they sent which doesn't take into account any background info, so he's happy now.
Sorry for the extremely boring post - I'd delete it but you can always skip over it, I'll post a warning at the top.0 -
Good Morning, Oldstylers  - looks like we've got a 'dull & murky' day ahead here, with some rain possibly forecast for later in the day
.
dumpling - Well done on starting today's thread :T! Hope today's meeting goes well for Lee, even though you aren't able to be there yourself. ((((HUGS)))) for you.
ancientofdays - Sorry to hear that your DM 'forgot' to ask about your DH and DS - they can be quite 'self-centred' when their own world has dwindled down to 'the place where they live'. On the +-side, she remembered to thank you for the flowers
. Hope that whoever else has 'upset her', manages to dodge her bullets today
.
camelot1001 - always hated going for 'smear tests' - but now feel 'quite miffed' that I no longer get sent for .................. as if I no longer matter.
nmlc - wow - busy day ahead planned there! Wish it was 'hanging out' weather here.
Nelski - Thanks for the update on HollyHarvey - hope that her medications get sorted out today. Perhaps the Junior Doctor needed the 'authority of his superiors' to be able to prescribe what she needs - it's no wonder that we sometimes hear of people who try to retain control of their 'regular meds' when going into hospital. Please pass on our good wishes to her :T. Enjoy your trip with Book Club :j.
silver-oldie - I'm sorry you get 'no positivity/appreciation' back from your DM when you visit. My own DM never, ever praised any of us (three daughters/one son) to our faces - but would 'tell the others' how much we'd done ....................... I always felt unappreciated, in the light of what my sisters/brother did for her. It was only after she died that we began to 'swap notes' about her and I realised that one of my sisters was REALLY annoyed at ME for being 'the golden child' in the family :rotfl:.
redruby - have a good day in work today.
I Love comps - Hope your DD's house buyer gets his act together soon. Recently been through DS having house-buying probs ...................... luckily all sorted itself out eventually. They are now all 'safely ensconced' in new home - surrounded by brick dust and half-built kitchen - and kids all in their own rooms to stop fights!
Organza_Lace - ((((Hugs)))) to you. My own DD is prone to panic attacks at times, sometimes finding it very difficult to leave her home.
ScarletRibbons - Oh dear, you're another with a 'difficult parent' - what a pity we couldn't have put them all into the 'same place' and let them annoy the heck out of each other:rotfl:. I still shake in my boots at the thoughts of 'the Mother Look'!
Speky - sorry to hear about your Gran - hope there's some more positive news today.
TA's - prayers and ((((Hugs)))) for you both.
In fact, ((((HUGS HUGS)))) for all who need, or want, them.
Had a reasonable day DGS1-sitting - he was quite co-operative yesterday and even went to the shops for me for some bin-bags that I'd forgotten to get for DD. Then he helped me to sort out the mess in the kitchen - he'd made the mess himself, but needed some organising to get it sorted before DD came back home again.
Have currently got the remains of 'salad stuff' simmering away on the hob (baby toms / red onions / spring onions / mixed peppers / sliced radishes with some tomato puree, basil and veg stock cube). Just didn't want it to be wasted - will add a tin of chopped toms later and blitz all together ...................... think I'll defrost some mince to go with it for tonight with pasta - could be interesting concoction :rotfl:!
Oh well, better go and get sorted for 'Round 2 of Nathan Minding'!
Have a good day, y'all :j.0 -
Just noticed that a few people got their posts in while I was posting - sorry for missing you all out
. Will need to catch up on your posts/news later today xxx

Thanks for the thought Mehefin, she has a foot supplement in with her hard feed and tbh, excluding the last two instances, she hadn’t lost a shoe for months so hopefully it’s just a case of bad luck. I have picked up a pair of overreach boots in the next size up ( extra full  ) to see if that helps. Well remembered on our soil though, drains a treatand yes, I have contemplated bute!

Good morning everyone,
Thank you for your kind messages today and yesterday. With my (almost) daily ramblings on here, you know how close I am to my gran and it's difficult to see her unwell. Thankfully she had improved last night when I visited. Sitting in her chair and looking much more fresh. She had eaten half a sandwich which is a new record since Saturday, so I hope this trend continues.
Regarding the move to Manchester - I spoke with my current boss and told him that they've made an offer. He asked me what they were offering and once I told him, he said that they'd get nowhere near that salary but he would ask his boss nonetheless. This is exactly what I expected them to say. I've told a few close colleagues about the situation and they all encourage me to go.
I'm back in work today still trying to catch up on things. I'm meant to be working till late tonight but I might be allowed to leave earlier to visit my gran.
Right I'm chasing my tail a bit. Need to go. Hope everyone is doing ok. Thoughts with Holly and TA0 -
Very late to the party this morning. I was up, but not compos. Got some gel type stuff to put in my mouth which is suposed to cover it somehow, tastes weird, but my tongue and mouth are slightly better today.
Went out for food with a couple of friends, going stir crazy in the house, had macaoni cheese which was bland and soft enough to eat [no crispy bits unfortunately -they're the best bits...] and had a good chat and made some tentative plans for December..
I have developed a twitch in my left eye too, so when the mattress delivery man came [ yay! new bed!] I don't think he quite knew how to respond to the bald winking person, he couldn't get away fast enough, that was very funny.
Made a veg and bean soup in the slow cooker last night so that's good for today and a few to put in the freezer.
Good to hear your gran is improving Sperky. Dumpling, I get very frustrated when I can't do what I normally do, agrophobia must be a nightmare, and trying to explain to someone else what you can't do anymore and they don't understand must be a nightmare. AOD, at least she thanked youNelski, have a fab day out, I like visiting London but really wouldn't want to live there. There's no sky, and you can't see more than a hundred yards [except in the parks or at the top of large buildings]
Holly, hope you get your meds sorted.OL, google maps is your friend, you an never get lost with that, and it has a directions facility for walking too, I use it quite a lot [ mostly for picking up purchases from FB], haven't got lost once yet! Have a good time away maddie. Good luck to everyone else with aches, pains and colds, hope they all go away soon, or at least ease off.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
