    Sounds like a generic identity search - you most likely authorised it when you made an application for something, or signed up for a service and agreed to their terms and conditions (eg. comparison quote sites). Identity searches are typically soft searches, which lenders will not see, so shouldn't be too much to concern yourself about.

    It is a soft search, however if it keeps relapsing, perhaps reach out to the business, if unknown to you and ask about them performing data checks about you.

    An internet broker is the worst thing to use, unless well-known and trusted, as these, from personal experience, will pass mobile numbers; names and other unspecified information to pest businesses.

    I used Cash Lady recently and now have the privilege of receiving 6-8 calls per day, from virtual numbers, claiming that I have been specially selected for approval of a £5000 loan... real exciting stuff.

    If it was the one search and nothing more, I wouldn't think too much into it,
