My husband and I paid a ridiculous amount of money some years ago to make our Will and in a fit of 'spring cleaning' he has managed to throw away all of our paperwork. Does anyone have any ideas how we can find out who we made the will with? Thank you for any advice.

I have an appointment with a solicitor for WillAid in early November. They have provided me with a list of information required (ie a template to fill out) and one of the questions is specifically "Do you wish [this solicitor] to act as an executor for your will" - or words to that effect.

No idea if they will be more pushy than a simple query though, but they have taken the opportunity to ask.

If you had gone through a solicitor they would normally hold the original, no idea what will writing companies do as I would not go near one.
