I still don’t understand... I think I messed up.. do I still have a case

I have tried to read the Newbie notes and i'm afraid I'm still confused so I apologise if this is all covered

I am very late to the forum

I believe I have probably already admitted I was driving as I appealed arguing hat I had arrived at my car within the parking time I had paid for but had struggled to get my buggy in the car and had therefore gone over ( 12 mins all together )

I received a letter to say I had lost the appealed wrote again to plead my case ... i appreciate now this was the wrong approach

today I received a letter from DRP saying the charge was now £160 and again did the wrong thing and rang them ..
I offered to pay 10 pound a month all I can afford

They said I had to pay 20 or the full amount and said if I didn't pay I would end up in court and have to pay court fees as well as the fine

My mum looked it up on the intranet and I read the thread etc and realised I have done everything I shouldn't do .. where do I go from here

Help ....

Stop contacting debt collectors and block drp if they ring you back!

Read #4 in the FAQ which advises on the stage you are now in (debt collectors)

Ignore everything except court correspondence or a LBCCA.

If it comes to that then come back for advice on how to deal with it at that time

What is the name of the PPC please?

Ignore DRP. They have no powers and can do nothing, absolutely nothing, except send you poor quality bog paper.
Never 'phone a debt crawler. Don't contact them again.
    Never phone a PPC either.

By buggy, do you mean a mobility scooter? If so then you may be covered by the Equality Act 2010, and should be allowed extra time.

Please complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

  • Of course you still have a case but your right about 'Should have come here first' never mind you are where you are, now to business

How dare the dirty scummy sewer rat DRP thieves treat you that way, nothing you can do about it now apart from NEVER contact them again, don't believe the lies they have told you, they have absolutely no power, they can do nothing but send you threatening letters and speak to you like dirt if your foolish enough to ring them.

You may get a Court claim in the future but you are LEGALLY entitled to defend it and that's what you must do, nothing to worry about its not criminal court its just a parking scammer trying to steal your money, this is what you will defend.

The experienced posters will help you defend this but please carry on reading the newbies thread to see exactly what game you are now involved in.
  • Thank you for your advice the name of ppc company is smart parking.
I will not be contacting them again though thank you again

Can you tell us just what on earth was confusing about Post 4 - IGNORE DEBT COLLECTORS...?

Because it would help us a lot in understanding why so many people seem to have the same problem as you?

LOL, it's only Smart Parking! Nowt to worry about, certainly NOT to pay.

Get the retailers to cancel it, go in and complain.

    STOP PHONING SCAMMERS.
They now have your phone number so block them when they text/call.
I had paid for but had struggled to get my buggy in the car and had therefore gone over ( 12 mins all together )
That's not a crime, is it, and in fact the BPA Code of Practice says there must be time BEFORE paying (observation time) then AT LEAST ten minutes at the end, after expiry of paid for time (grace period).

So 12 minutes is not a contravention. Too late to use POPLA to win it now though (you should have come here and you would have won the appeal on the first try).

Ignore them and get the retailer Store Manager to cancel it, this could be all over by tomorrow. Or the landowner, whoever it was.

    :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Holly, oh dear but you have been in contact with known
    money scammers called DRP

You do NOT owe £160 ..... IT'S FAKE

YOU DO NOT OWE DRP ANYTHING

DRP ARE UNCOUTH DROIDS/ SCUM/ RETARDS who live
    in the sewers

NEVER CONTACT THEM AGAIN AND NEVER PAY THEM

THERE IS NOTHING DRP CAN DO TO HARM YOU

Smart are also serial scammers but are easy to beat
with the help of this forum

You should understand that both Smart and DRP are
    approved members of the BPA
    (The British Parking Association)

SIMPLY PUT, THE BPA ACCEPT MEMBERSHIP FEES
    FROM SCAMMERS ..... ??????
