160 parking ticket- Demand for Payment

Hi there,
I moved a little while ago as was a but lax about update my V5C. I recieved a letter from a debt collcetor demanding £160. The car park in question is free other than on match days where its limited to 1 hour. (I wasn't parked on a match day)
I have contacted the company, Premier Park LTD, stating the fact that the fee is only applicable on game days and I wasn't parked on a game day. But I recieved a letter the next day saying my time to challenge the charge has expired, even through I made contact days after receiving the letter (September) parking large notice date (May)
They are now saying I have 14 days to pay or they will take me to court? I send them another message today following the 'registered keeper' template and asking for pictures of my car and the sign.
Is there anything else I should or could do?
Many thanks
TK

If what you say is true they are likely to crash and burn it they take you to court.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I suggest you remove your name from that post, AND URGENTLY contact the MSE forum team to change that ill-advised username - if that is real.
OMG be more forum savvy. A username is not your real name on an open forum read by parking firms who hate us and what we do. Premier Park even have a 'person' who posted here not long ago so clearly they look here...
So what if the PPC says they'll sue you, why the question mark, as if it's something new?
Please read the NEWBIES thread (post #4 is about ignoring the debt collectors) and come back if they try court (post #2 is all about how to win). And we do win.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

To help with C-m's first suggestion, you might like to read this short extract from The MSE Forum Guide - Frequently Asked Questions & Rules:Q. How can I change my username?
A. In most circumstances, this is not permitted.
The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.
If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.0 -
You still have not even hit 'edit' and deleted your name from the post end!
