BW Legal Court Claim

Hi, I have read the Newbies thread but would like to explain my situation further so I can be given the best advice on how to proceed with this.
Back in May, I received a PCN for parking in a 'restricted area', from memory I believe there was a sign but because I was moving into my new flat at the time this was the most convenient place to park as I was only nipping upstairs for a brief moment.
I have now received a BW Legal court claim saying to pay the £160 or I will be taken to court and this will be costing up to £260. I am NOT the registered keeper of the vehicle. My uncle is receiving these letters so would like to deal with it so he is not pestered or worried about being taken to court.
Now I have been in contact with my letting agent and they managed to successfully cancel one of my PCN's I received for doing the same but in a different location. VCS (the private company) have responded to my letting agent saying they cannot authorise the cancellation of my other outstanding PCN because the land I parked on was not owned by them its in fact owned by the construction site across the road.
What is the best way to contest this, as where I parked is very much so the bottom of my apartment block but VCS is claiming its not the landlord's land? If I had displayed a permit from my letting agent and received this PCN how would I have known this isn't their land as the signs displaying were generic?
Any help will be appreciated. I have 5 days left to respond to this court claim.
Thanks

So to be clear
You dont actually havea claim form yet. You jsut have a Letter before action? DOes it state they WILL issue a claim? Does it give a 16 or 30 day deadline? If 16 its actually likely from a debt colelctor.
SO, be precise. Dont guess about terms.0 -
And talking about guesswork, you say they VCS I assume cannot cancel the other PCN as they don't own the land??? do they have authority to even issue PCN? one would assume so IF!! they have issued PCN, I'm lost
You need to do some more digging and give us more specifics.
Well done by the way on getting one cancelled, one more to go now0 -
And did the note on the car have an envelope saying THIS IS NOT A PARKING CHARGE NOTICE?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
