Barclays switch incentive returns.

Options
I see the Barclays Double rewards switch incentive is back, tried opening account online, told to make an appointment at local branch with a community banker for I D etc. Phoned to be told there is no appointment for the whole month, reminded the call handler this is only the 3rd,suggested to go along to branch on chance, this lot really are a joke.

Correct. Between 1st October and 14th November, new and existing customers will receive double rewards for a year if they use the full account switch service. Those with a Premier account receive triple rewards, and new Blue Rewards sign-ups who aren't using the Switch service will get double rewards for one month.

As an aside, and regarding the appointment booking - what do you want them to do about it? Cancel somebody else's appointment so you can go to the head of the queue? Do you react this way when making an appointment for the dentist or GP? Branch staff are still feeling the tail-end of Student Season and their diaries are packed. Either take an appointment a few weeks in the future, see what the availability is in nearby branches, or pop in on a quiet day and take your chances. I recommend mid-morning midweek. If you feel Barclays aren't sufficiently rushing to give you free money, perhaps choose a bank that provides service proportionate to the fee they charge you?

It's not really a natural switch incentive e.g. people switch and get their incentive? For Barclays it pays a sum monthly provided certain requirements are met.

I was toying with the idea of switching here ahead of M&S, however I feel with the regular saver at 5% M&S is the better option.
