Xbox one headset

Hello
Please can someone help me?
In December 2017 we purchased an Xbox one headset for my son
Through the Microsoft store, since then the headset has been replaced
Under warranty 4 times (soon to be 5), each time it fails none can hear my son through the chat bar so I spend 30-45 minutes each time on live chat to get it booked in for repair. Each time the headset is sent to Germany and replaced taking around 2 weeks to come back, so out of the 10 months he’s had it, it’s been gone for around 8 weeks
And replaced every time. Obviously there isn’t an argument as they replace the defect item, but the replacement only has warranty until this December. Given the headset was 80 and lasts around 6-8 weeks per replacement what are my rights for a full refund?
Obviously I’m not expecting lifetime warranty but somethings not right with these headsets. I’ll be getting on to live chat again shortly 😤
Many Thanks
Stephen

What jurisdiction to purchases through the MS Store come under? (England & Wales / UK? USA? Germany?)
If UK then you would have been entitled to a refund after the first repair/replace attempt failed to make the goods conform to contract. You could still try that route but they may try to reduce the amount of refund as it is now more than 6 months since purchase.0 -
Is this known to be a widespread problem? If not then that might point the finger of suspicion at how the headset is being used rather than there being the same fundamental fault in 4 different sets.0
