Hi,
Id like to be able to see all bank accounts and credit cards one one screen to see my actual cashflow position more easily.
Do you use an app to do that and does it work well?
thanks

Thanks, Id like to see a running total so I know exactly where I am though without needing to calculate anything0

I use First Direct's Internet Banking Plus which does this. You don't need a First Direct account but you do need to use the Internet Explorer web browser.0

If, like me, you don't want to entrust the login details of all of the organisations that you bank with to a third party then the answer is to use offline software (I use MS Money, still the best free solution in my view) to record all transactions and get both an overview of your financial situation along with the detail of each account. I enter everything manually but for some accounts the data can be downloaded and automatically entered if you wish.0

Account aggregator apps such as Yolt or Emma are probably what you want here - some do screen-scraping where you have to provide your login details to the app, while others use the new open banking APIs where you authorise the app to have access to your account via your own bank's secure online services0

thanks Of the "account aggregator apps' which are the preferred ones?0

accountunity is the technology implemented in First Direct's Internet Banking Plus, just with more providers supported.
I am currently trying out Moneyhub which also has a formidable list of providers, and can classify spending into various categories. It does badly miss, however, a simple overview of all accounts like you get with accountunity, and it won't allow you to log into the individual providers. Not sure yet which one I will keep.
I have tried also tried Emma, Yolt, MoneyDashboard, the HSBC and the Barclays apps - they are all rubbish, IMO as they support a very small number of providers and some of them were awfully slow when I tried them.
Bottom line is that none of them do everything I want to have done, so for me it's a choice of the best of a mediocre bunch. Your mileage may vary as your requirements might be very different to mine.0 -
