Hi my dad might be applying for pip benefits for me but does the money have to be paid in to my dad's bank account or my bank account?

if youre at an age where a parent applies for you, then it will go into their account, not yours.0 -

If your dad is becoming your appointee then he can apply for PIP for you and use his bank account.poppy12345 wrote: »The same question was previously answered a couple of days ago here.

If he's not becoming your appointee then as you're 19 you apply for your own PIP and open a bank account of your own.0 -
Is there a reason he's doing everything for you? Do you have a condition which makes it hard for you to manage money?
Because at your age you should be becoming independent from your parents and in control of your own life. Becoming more dependent on them seems a step in the wrong direction.
There have been a couple of posters who have had to fight to get things in their own names when their parents have been appointee, it really is a big deal that you need to think about carefully.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Some of the PIP criteria such as communication, reading and managing money may well be the disability or long-term health condition that is being claimed for. In this instance it's quite likely that the reasons the claimant may be eligible may also be the reasons they need an appointee. Is there a reason he's doing everything for you? Seems like we may never know, as the OP has yet to get past the muliple threads of asking about bank accounts. No further information has been given.sensibleadvice wrote: »Some of the PIP criteria such as communication, reading and managing money may well be the disability or long-term health condition that is being claimed for.
