As a general rule, tariffs with high standing charges and low unit price suit high energy users; conversely tariffs with a low or zero standing charge suit low energy users. Personally, I am not sure what is to be achieved by drilling down into comparative detail in the way that the OP is looking for. That said, as we have gas CH, I do run three comparisons based on my average consumption of 10000kWhs/year and then plus/minus 15% to see if the cheapest tariff on offer changes. I also look at separate suppliers.

OP - if you are worried about giving out personal details on a website then make up an e-mail address.

I think suppliers are only permitted to have 4 current tarrifs available forsale at one time.

But they change them at least once a month if not more. Hence the long list!

Be very careful with the name, e.g online, saver, blue. Very easy to select the wrong one!

P.S I agree its ridiculous you need to type is so much info to "get a quote"
But just have your 2 kwh numbers handy

I[STRIKE] think[/STRIKE] know you are wrong.
There is no limit to the number of tariffs a supplier may offer; .that silly rule in what is supposed to be a competitive market was lifted shortly after it was imposed).

But I do not know of any supplier who currently offers anything near as many as 70 different tariffs to new applicants.

The only info one is required to obtain a quote is your supply region (often made easier by asking for your postcode) and an estimation of your consumption (or some details for the comparison site to estimate your consumption)

The MSE CEC requires your email address because it is primarily a monitor and alert service, not a comparison service. It monitors you are on teh best tariff, and sends you an email when there is a better deal available to you.

There won't be 70 tariffs to new applicants. No one said that.
