Does anyone have any idea what a good standard fire door should cost to have fitted, I've been told a good chippie should be able to install one ?
Many thanks

I paid a local carpentry company £400 inc fitting/varnishing and vat, it is very secure compared to these modern composite things and much thicker.
I would not pay more than £500 all in!Time Is The Enemy!0 -
Is it a replacement or a new install?
Fire doors need to have intumescent strips installed, three intumescent hinges and a closer.
It's easily a days work to do that, so allow a days money £200 plus door etc. So easily £350 - £400Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
If are handy, you an buy a cheap router and a 10mm bit (width of the strip and it may have changed?) for about £50, intumescent strips, hinges and closer from screwfix, and fire door of 30 it 60 mins? door probably from Magnet for under £55. If you pay cash at magnet you get discount.0

Thanks all. I would need it fitted tbh but it doesn't sound like it's going to break the bank.0
