Hi,
Just wondering whether this included automatically when you apply for benefit or you need to apply separately?
It shows on the calculation when I used the benefit calculator. While it helps with my income/expenses it's not something I want because it's a loan and I need to pay it back in the future.
If it's automatically included, how can I cancel it? Just ring the DWP?
TIA.

It is also a secured loan - secured as a charge on your property like a second mortgage.
Not suitable for everyone which is why the take up appears low. You'd best consider it carefully

Government can't be accused of mis-selling a financial product like others can. Note this comment from Turn2usYou have to pay back the loan and the interest added to it, when you sell or transfer ownership of your property providing there is enough equity left. A charging order is placed on your property so that you have to pay it back when you sell it.Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.

Thanks for the replies.
As it's something you need to apply I won't bother about it.0
