Hi there and hope you can help !
My daughter is a single mum who works but has to claim benefits as well to keep her afloat.
I think this is some kind of housing benefit and also tax credits .
She has been left a 1/8th share of a house in her grandfathers will which amounts to about 25k.
Her grandmother is still alive and is now going in a care home and the house is going to be rented out to help pay for her grandmothers care in the home.
She will get no money until her grandmother passes (which could be years) and the house will be sold.
Does my daughter have to declare this and will it affect her benefit in any way ?
Thank you in advance.

This doesn't answer the question - what exactly does her grandfather's will say?0
