After the disappointment dies down, I'm still having to drive 17 miles, fight city centre traffic & parking issues to get VM's 3%... so I'll take 3% at Santander with a few clicks, thank you very much.0

You must be crazy having a VMs 3% regular if you go to the branch 12 times a year to fund it.
How much does the travel and parking cost?plus the stress and time .
Just to get £40 a year? So £3 quid a month or each 17 mile trip.
I fund my VM regular with a standing order why dont you?0 -

Same here and the account is in my wife's name and she doesn't earn enough for the HSBC offering. They refused her application even though we could have easily paid in the required amount.16 Panel (250W JASolar) 4kWp, facing 170 degrees, 40 degree slope, Solis Inverter. Join, get the gift, then flog it on Facebook/ebay/gumtree for around £100.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

The cashback rules for 123 Lite say:
"To earn cashback you'll need to pay in £500 a month (any interest paid, and payments between Santander personal accounts you’re named on won't count towards this) and have 2 active Direct Debits."
https://www.santander.co.uk/uk/current-accounts/123-lite-current-account
As you say, that's for cashback.
Soulsaver is saying to ChaskhaChaia that you don't need DDs on the 123 Lite account in order to be eligible for the 3% regular e-saver (as a result, they don't charge the £1 monthly fee either).:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member
