Probate Online Updates - how frequent?

I'm buying a probate property and have been waiting since May for the sellers to apply for Probate.
Their solicitor has finally told me they applied on September 14th and expect it to be granted within 4 weeks.
I keep checking the Govt site where Probate Grants are published.
Does anyone know how frequently the site is updated? ie daily, weekly?
As soon as it comes through, I can complete on my long-winded house purchase. So, it's become a bit of an obsession checking the site, please excuse me ;-)

The site tells you: 'A new probate record will be online approximately 14 days after probate has been issued.'Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

Surely the real issue here, is not how soon it appears online, but how soon it is actually granted.
There are already several threads dedicated to this topic, so I will not derail this one. Suffice it to say, 4 weeks from application is very optimistic:cool:0 -
The question of how long has been repeatedly raised on this forum. It is impossible to say as so many variables are involved. Past experience is no guide whatsoever to what future timescales will be. Patience is the only answer. Updates to the online system may be done daily or in batches. You might try phoning the probate office concerned and ask them. Please let us know what they say.PassingOutInTheParade wrote: »I'm buying a probate property and have been waiting since May for the sellers to apply for Probate.

Thank you but my question was 'Does anyone know how frequently the site is updated? ie daily, weekly?' NOT how long does the application take.
I am well aware of lengths of string.
If anyone else would like to know how often THE SITE IS UPDATED.......it's updated between 2 and 4 days after the Grant of Probate is issued according to the Govt official I spoke with.0 -
I doubt there is any formal standard as different office's workloads will vary. What you have been told suggests it is very frequent but it seems unlikely you will ever know. What really matter to anyone affected is how long it takes the executor to receive probate. How long the public reard takes seems of little relevance, You can always phone the particular Probate Office and ask.PassingOutInTheParade wrote: »Thank you but my question was 'Does anyone know how frequently the site is updated? ie daily, weekly?' Not what the site itself says (see post 2 above), so I wouldn't take the official's comments as gospel.0 -
What difference is it going to make to you if it takes 2,4,14 or 28 days to update online?
Are you trying to decide whether keep checking online is worth it or whether to ask the solicitor from time to time?0 -

Then perhaps you should take a second to hit the 'thanks' button in post #2 given that Marcon answered your actual question within 30 minutes of you asking it. :beer:Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
OP, I'm sorry that you have had several patronising and assuming responses (which appears to be the norm at the moment).
I have it on good authority from a staff member of The Probate Office, that Grants and wills are updated every 3 days on average, in batches. Obviously, someone needs to scan them manually so it depends who is available and their workload.
I see from previous posts that you are about 6 months into your house purchase. Ignore those who tell you to 'be patient' as though you are a 12 year old; it seems you have been more than patient.
I wish you luck and hope it all concludes very soon for you.0
