Hi all posted this in disability money too quick question is a sick line from a gp along with your application enough to guarantee they'll put you onto the assessment phase at least? I understand this isn't normally a big deal because it's paid at same basic rate as me a but sick line is backdated two months so to be guaranteed onto the assessment phase means about ten weeks worth of payments to me so is a significant amount of money. So if you submit an application for esa along with a valid sick line does this guarantee acceptance to the assessment phase

A fit note as they are now called isn't going to guarantee you ESA. It totally depends on your circumstances. There's 2 types of ESA, Contributions based and Income Related. Contributions based, you need to have paid enough NI contributions in the previous 2 tax years before your claim. If you haven't then you can't claim this one.Joemcgreechin wrote: »Hi all posted this in disability money too quick question is a sick line from a gp along with your application enough to guarantee they'll put you onto the assessment phase at least? Income Related depends on household income. If you live with a partner that works then you won't be able to claim this one either.
You also need to take a look at what's in your area to see if it's a full universal credit area or not. http://ucpostcode.entitledto.co.uk/ucdate
With no information then no one can help you further.0
