Gemini Parking charge

I’m doubtful I have any grounds for appeal but worth a try. I received a PCN which also was my NTK from Gemini (within 14 days of event), for overstaying a 2 hour time limit.
I was not the driver on the day but have several times been to this car park and honestly thought it was free for guests of the leisure centres there (the soft play allows you 3 extra hours, on this occasion it was a birthday party in a sports centre which the car stayed on site a couple more hours after the party ended). Annoyingly had we known / been told by staff to pay it would have been just a few pound, or free parking on the street outside!
Is it worth appealing the charge when the car was on camera for way over the 2 hour time?
