I am getting my home renovated which i just purchased. it's 3 bed semi detached Victorian c.100 years old house.
I have got quote of 25000 pounds just for labor for following works:

remove paper work, polystyrene tiles
chimney knock down
kitchen sealing knock down
electric rewiring
preparing wall for plaster
DPC
plaster
heating & replumbing
bathroom renovation
utility room and shower room in place of existing kitchen
painting
insulation loft
insulation under floor
storage below stair
carpet & vynl floor
rubbish skip
temp kitchen
installing door and frames

The builder is recommended to me by a friend.
All the materials are extra and will be charged at actual, structural engineer, building control charges are also extra.

What do you guys think? Is it a good price in north west London area?

another builder has quoted me 40000 pounds including material and this builder has got more number of positive reviews than one i mentioned above but no customer i know personally.

what do yo guys think? work will be done in same sequence as mentioned above and will take 5 to 6 weeks as told to me.

Thanks.

too vague, how big the rooms are, standard of finish. New doors, kitchens and bathrooms can be very expensive, but can get a new bath for £75 from b&q, reuse is cheaper.

My friend in clapham paid £50k for less work than this

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘Is This Quote Fair?’ board, where it is better suited.
