Breakdown cover for UK and Ireland

I live in Northern Ireland and travel regularly to mainland UK and Irish Repbulic (ROI). I have no plans to motor outside of these regions.

I have had breakdown cover with the AA for a long time but am concerned because my policy does not cover ROI. I would have to take out Euro cover to address that which whacks the premium way up. It seems crazy since the cost of them towing me home from most parts of ROI must be cheaper than towing me home from Southern England.

Anyhow, does anyone know of a reliable breakdown provider that covers UK and ROI? My wife and I each own a car and we need cover for either of us driving either vehicle.

Hi - you may have to apply for euro cover as the only way to get cover for the republic.Try insure supermarket and I think their deals will be much cheaper than AA.
Make sure they will cover someone who lives in Northern Ireland before signing up.

It is probably also worth asking the current car insurance company/brokers for their prices

More Than breakdown cover part of More Than insurance group offer FREE Euro Cover on there top two packages,which are substantially lower then AA/RAC.

Unfortunately MORE THAN don't offer breakdown cover to residents of Northern Ireland.

Check out the RAC, last time I heard if you were a northern ireland resident you got fill cover for the whole of Eire aswell.
