As an advertiser on Holiday Lettings, I've always found it VERY difficult to contact them in any way ...
Good luck!
Much obliged to you for you good wishes.
That is interesting you state that as a few hours before I mentioned to my wife I have seen no way on the Holiday Lettings site of how to contact them.
I fear I may need to too, further details to follow.0 -

Much obliged to you Chris for clarifying the liability of the seller, that being making me whole, I've not heard that term before. For clarity, i am about to cancel, however they have not offered a refund as of yet.0 -
Update:-
I contacted the seller and asked why the increase of 100%. He stated that the Holiday Lettings was displaying last year prices and he has since had them updated.
I wrote back and asked therefore what would the final fee be, and how can I be guaranteed that there may not be a request for further funds in the future. On this occasion his team contacted me and quoted a new price, now to be £3000 instead of £1000.
I advised this was ridiculous and that I will not be accepting that price. Immediately the owner got back to me to state that the price will actually be the mid price, £2000, the first increased cost that I had queried.
Now I am concerned and do not have any confidence in completing this booking, so I will not.
So I am about to cancel and fear getting my money back may be difficult. I have the chargeback facility mentioned above, I am hoping that will be successful.
Else I will need to get in touch with the Holiday Lettings company. Of course the refund may be seamless, however my dealings so far do not point to that.
Thanks to you all.0 -

Thats sometimes stated on here but its incorrect - at least as far as english contract law goes.
The well established principle of english law is that in breach of contract, damages will be primarily assessed on the basis of putting the injured party into the position they would have been in (or as near as money can achieve it) had the contract been performed correctly. Usually they will only award on the basis of putting the party into the position they would have been had the contract not been entered, if the former is impossible. You keep using that word.
