Interest Free Credit Cards to use Abroad

I need help!

We are going to New York just before Christmas and we want to be able to go away and not worry too much about what we are spending (we are normally very careful and don't have any debts other than a mortgage).

We would like a credit card with something around 12+ months interest free but also needs to have (ideally) 0% fees on purchases abroad, does that exist? Help!

Many thanks
Helen

It's unlikely you will get that combination.

The interest free option is likely to be most beneficial to you. Or forex free and then BT elsewhere.

I highly doubt you'll get that combination as I'm not sure such as card exists. You might have to have a think about what is more important - if you have to pay off a holiday over 12 months, you might need to ask yourself if you can really afford it anyway. Nothing stopping you using a fee-free card for overseas transactions, and then BT the balance to a 0% card.

If you have, or get, a qualifying Nationwide Current Account and apply for a Nationwide Select Credit Card you'll have no foreign commission fees and they offer 0% on purchases for the 1st 12 months.

The Post Office Platinum card has 28 months 0% on purchases and also has fee-free overseas use.
  • It is difficult to get the card which consists your mentioned features. If your priority is to get 0% fees on purchases then BankAmericard credit card may be the best option as it has 0% on Purchases for 18 billing cycles.

And how does someone from the UK go about getting a US a credit card?
