PCN from RCP. Now receiving demands from TNC

I paid for parking in a RCP car park but accidentally parked in the wrong car park. RCP have 2 carparks next to each other, separated by a one way road. I appealed through POPLA, it was rejected. Now I’m receiving demands (2 letters so far) from TNC for £179.

I’ve got no idea what to do about it. Could anyone help with some advice please?

TNC are just bog standard debt collectors.
They know, we know, and now you know that they
are powerless in the private parking scam.

YOU JUST IGNORE TNC regardless of their threats
    which they cannot carry out

READ .... same applies to TNC

As BG says, debt beggars can only send silly letters. Laugh at them, then file them safely (always keep letters that suggest you owe anyone money, for a minimum of 6 years - see the Limitation Act 1980).

Only a Judge can now tell you to pay this. Check out the following link to show that RCP are unlikely to take legal action against you*.

    http://www.parkingappeals.info/companydata/RCP_Parking.html

    * Have to add this caveat. While they are not currently litigious, they do have up to 6 years to pursue you. It would take a brave man/woman to guarantee their behaviour between now and 2024. Come back (only) if you receive a formal Letter Before Claim/Action or real court papers.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I’ve got no idea what to do about it.

Then you have not read the sticky threads, especially:

NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST (i.e. before posting)...

4th post of the NEWBIES thread covers debt collector ignoring stage. No link needed to it, you have the link at the top of every page (see my signature for where to click...the breadcrumb trail link back to page one, is top of the page).

  • Thank you for your replies.

I called TNC to ask them to refer it back to RCP as suggested in the link. Lady on the phone said they won’t. I refused to pay outright & asked what would happen next, she was unsure. She said she didn’t know and would forward my response to the legal team.

    I called TNC
    Don't EVER do that again.
She said she didn’t know and would forward my response to the legal team.
She lied. They do not have a legal team and debt collectors can't sue over a fake PCN, only the parking firm can. Stop phoning scammers.
