Disabling SmartScreen

I bought a new laptop, Acer Aspire 1 with windows 10 S.. but when I try to install a program etc , I keep getting a message saying .

SmartScreen Defender cannot be reached and cannot decide if this program is safe to run

Ive googled and it says you need to disable SmartScreen by
going to

Control Panel

System and Security

Security And Maintenance

then click on

Change Windows SmartScreen settings, but I don't have a link that says that, so what do I do

When the message comes up click on more info. You should then see a button marked 'Run anyway'. Click on this
  • it does give you an option to bypass the problem by changing to windows 10 from windows 10 S..but it says once you've changed to windows 10 , you cant change back to windows 10 S....

if I go into programs ad delete the smartscreen firewall....would that solve the problem ?

The big difference between Windows 10 S and any other version of Windows 10 is that 10 S can only run applications downloaded from the Windows Store.

    A
nything downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Store will run on Windows 10 S, which has thousands of applications available, including free, paid and trial versions of software.

Any apps that are not currently available in the Windows Store will not be able to be installed or run
