as above, with Eon, just switching tariff, online only, just wondering if switch is straght away, I was advised by EOn call centre, switch over
can be matter of days now. I hope so, as I don't want to pay three weeks of their standard tariff.
used Uswitch as online only tariff

Switching from one E.ON tariff to another via a price comparison site is effective immediately. It can take them up to 2 weeks to actually process the change (they have a team that does it manually), but once they do it is backdated to the day the switch was requested.
As you're already with them its considered a variation of contract and doesn't require a cooling off period (this isn't specific to E.ON).3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). This applies to all suppliers. If you an initiate a switch and the losing supplier is notified via industry procedures that a transfer is in progress no later than end of fixed contract date PLUS 20 days then you have tariff price protection until the transfer goes through.
Most suppliers - particularly those signed up to 17 day switching - do inform the losing supplier that a transfer is in progress during the cooling off period. Leaving a switch decision until late in the day can have advantages; the downside, is that the tariff that you were looking at might have been withdrawn. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Is that the E.ON Go Online 1 Year v19 tariff you are thinking of transfering to?
I would suggest losing out on possibly a few days of your existing cheap tariff rates would be the lest of your worries looking at the prices of that tariff
Over 4p/kWh for gas with a daily standing charge over 20p
Electricity is a little more competitive at about 17.5p /Kwh and 16.5p per day standing charrge, but I'm sure that could be beaten too
Prices may vary by supply region, but taking an average dual fuel user in the Eastern supply region (one I picked at random) you could save over £200 with another supplier (variable or fixed), and possibly even more by looking at seperate suppliers :money:0 -
Strewth - In what way is 17.5p a kwh for leccy competitive??? That 6p/kwh more than my deal. Over 7000kwh that would cost me an extra £420.
Granted the s/c is about 6p/day cheaper so would cost me an extra £22 so I still be £400 worse offNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Hello Articulate25 and sorry for the late reply. Only just spotted your question.
Raxiel is spot on - thanks Raxiel. When moving from one of our tariffs to another through a Price Comparison site, the new tariff will start immediately.
Currently the team dealing with these switches are working through a large backlog and this is delaying acknowledgements. Don't worry, the tariff will be backdated to the day you put the switch through.
Sorry for the delay and my late reply.

Spot on Raxiel. Thanks for posting as I was very late spotting the OP's question.

Hello namenotgiven and welcome to the Forums.
I'm sorry for the difficulties you've had when trying to contact us. We know this isn't good enough and are working to sort these issues as quickly as possible.
Have you received confirmation from uSwitch that your application for a different tariff has gone through? If you did, you'll be okay. We're currently working through a large backlog and we're late confirming tariff switches. Don't worry, we'll backdate the tariff to the day you applied through uSwitch.
If you haven't received notification from uSwitch then it's best to continue trying to contact them as it's likely we haven't received your application.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction namenotgiven.
