Chalk paint .. Bleed Through

I have chalk painted a side table with a couple of drawers, opting to paint the drawer fronts a very light colour.
Having painted 3 coats without proper coverage, I now know that the problem is referred to as bleed through.
Looking on the internet it seems the best solution is to overpaint the stained area with Zinsser BIN shellac based paint, then try again with the chalk paint.
The cost of this paint, even in the smallest size is quite expensive, so I was wondering about alternatives.
I actually have some Hammerite smooth white paint and was wondering whether this would perhaps stop the bleed through.
What do folk here think ?

Don't use hammerite. It will affect the chalk based paint. Use an ordinary oil based undercoat, or even a spray on stain block (solvent based). This will stop any bleed through.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I think decorators recommend Zinsser because it works.
Do something right, do it onceEven with a reputable branded paint, the bleed occurs over the longer term. Something that is okay initially eventually starts to stain.
Yes, it's expensive, but there is such a thing as cost per wear and to me, paint is about the cheapest cost per day of prety much anything in a house.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
