Stripped wooden flooring?

Hi,
I've just bought my first home, a 1 bed ground Victorian tenament flat in Glasgow.
At the moment the flat has really horrible carpets which I'd really like to rip up & put some of the Victorian charm back in!
In an ideal World I'd love parquet flooring, but since I didn't win the Euromillions last week I think what I'm going to do is rip up the carpets & get the wooden floorboards stripped & varnished. It's always an aesthetic that I've loved.
I'll leave the vinyl in the bedroom & bathroom for now but want to get the hall, lounge & bedroom done before I move in.
The flat is about 47sqm in total & I've worked out it'll be about 35 sqm of flooring that I need doing.
Can anyone give me an idea of how much it is likely to cost to pay someone to do this for me, how long it'll take, & are there any disadvantages to it?
Also will the skirting need replacing?
Thanks in advance.

Investigate insulating under the floor before doing this. Without insulation and draft proofing it could make the flat expensive to heat.0

I guess it's unlikely the underfloor is insulated, but are there things you can do to mitigate this such as filling the gaps between the boards when getting it done?0

i would check with your factor for the flats, as there might be restrictions on people in tenements having wooden flooring, as the noise could be an issue.
We recently installed LVT0 -
Thanks will check, but hopefully being ground floor (& no adjacent neighbour) should be less of an issue?0
