Damp issue affecting neighbour.

We live in an end terraced house and our neighbour who is joined to us has said she has some damp coming through one of her internal walls that is on the other side of one of our external walls. She believes that as the brickwork is on our side of the apex it is our responsibility.
The brickwork on our side does look to be in poor repair and a builder has advised to fix it it would require 5 or 6 rows of bricks replacing. Ideally we only want to patch it up as we are not in a position to spend much money and have no savings that we could use to pay for this.
Has anyone had an similar experience of this? I don't know what to do or where we stand legally.

Is next door's roof at a higher level than yours?0

Is the leaking wall above your land? Is it a cavity wall?I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

Can you stick a photo on?0

It sounds like it could be a single skin wall, which would be likely to allow moisture through to next door.0

Thanks, I can see the photos now. I'm not surprised next door is getting a lot of damp, that is a real lash up.
However if you have no money and can't do the work yourself there's not much you can do.
It was a mistake to change the roof and leave the wall exposed like that.0
