NatWest Duplicate Transaction - Again!

On Saturday I bought some things from Boots online. Just checked balance and there are two £41 debits. Now I hardly have any money in my account. Last time was a few months ago, and I had 3 duplicate transactions after I had used my solo card in shops. it took 4 days to credit me back :mad:

The title suggests that Nat West are at fault here, but IMO it is Boots who have messed up.

I would agree as well. It is the retailer asking for an authorisation code that is why it will show twice. In a couple of days one of them will drop off the system.
Why did it happen? Retailer machine timed out possibly, ie retailer sends message to their merchant who requests authorisation code, code sent to merchant and then to retailer but in mean time it timed out so repeated and not timed out so one correct transaction. make sense?

another example of the banks being blamed when its not their fault - when its pointed out to them the OP rarely bothers to admit they were in the wrong in slating the banks - this is why I rarely post anymore - I used to try & help when there was a valid question but a lot of posters on here at mo just like to kick off before finding out the facts
