Tyre pressure for bicycle

The OP needs some sprint rims, 18mm Wolber Record Piste (a little less rare than hen's teeth), and a track pump.
You can then inflate to 180 PSI, but be careful, if they puncture you may feel as though someone has lobbed a hand grenade at you.0 -
I think it's easy to get a bit too fussy about tyre pressure. For nearly 50 years I inflated cycle tyres without a gauge, then when I bought one I found I'd been getting the pressure about right with my thumb.
Agreed, for road use I just pump the tyres up high and leave it at that.
Off road pressures are important but there's no real rules for that either and it will vary tremendously depending on the type of use, rider weight, size of tyres etc.0 -

Back in the day, I was using 19mm Tempo's at 220psi.0 -
Commuter CX bike with 28mm Conti Gatorskin tyres on 80psi front and 90psi rear seems to handle central London’s poor roads perfectly... no punctures in 4 years.0
