Renault ignition key problem
Hi,
I'm having problems turning the ignition key in my Renault Kangoo 2014.
It's not the steering lock.
I suspect either the key or the lock is wearing out
(The spring on the lock has broken as I have to click the ignition key back manually now once I have started it).
I can start it but it takes a hell of a lot of manipulation of the key.
I have read a replacement key (I only have one) may do the trick, am I limited to just using a Renault dealer or are there other options?
Thanks

Unless you can find a locksmith, you have the choice of cloning the key or replacing the key blank, depends on the actual key.
Nobody is silly enough to buy a modern car with just one key surely?
Dont buy a modern car with just one key...££££
4 year old renault, key worth more than the car
Sorry just needed to get in before everyone else says it
Will the key blade come out without damage? Will the chip come out without damage?
If you can replace the blade then that cheap compared to a dealer and their wallet extraction tool.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The key is not stuck in the ignition.
I can get the key in and out no problem it's just getting the key to marry up with the pins in the lock takes a lot of messing about.
I tried googling replacing the key and the first couple of pages are paid for adds which are bewildering and I'm not confident with them0 -

I had a couple of quotes of £300 to replace 2 keycards on my Megane, ended up paying £100 from a guy that lived local that advertised on ebay.0
