in Credit cards
I have just rung Barclaycard to cancel my card and was put through to customer retention advisor. I said that I was looking to cancel all my cards that had no remaining benefit - i.e 0% interest free etc.
They firstly offered me low rate balance transfer but I said that I had no other balances. They then offered me 3% cashback for NEXT 3 MONTHS on ALL purchases. This would take effect immediately and I did not need to change cards. Aparently they have not yet decided what to offer after the 3 months but if you already have a Barclaycard and you pay off in full ( like me and my parents ) then this is a hasstle free way of getting cashback without having to apply for new card ( credit checks etc )
Happy Christmas !

Thank you Hilspars. I didn't know that card issues were open to negotiation in this way. Always worth a try, especially now that banks etc. are facing so much competition for customers.0
