Registering a death with Computershare

My father who has recently died had about £10,000 shares in one company managed by Computershare. I am executor and will be applying for Probate. I have read Computershares` info on the Deceased Registration Process and don`t understand it! It seems to be saying that I need to send them a copy of the death certificate and a copy of the Grant of Representation - but surely I should be informing them before Probate is obtained?
Please can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks I read that, but further on it says that if you are applying for a grant of representation they want to see it - which is what confused me.
At the end of the FAQs there is a "Contact us" button so I think I will do that and ask for clarification

Send them the death certificate now and the grant of representation when you get it.
