General concern about Economy Energy

I've been monitoring the threads relating to this company. I am generally really concerned about them. I have been unable, since my account was set up in May, to get consistent metre reads added to my account. They always seem to go with the estimates rather than the actual reads which I can't seem to get added to the site unless I email them, and even that is now failing. My direct debit going in amounts also don't match what I am paying them. It's pence difference. They round it down and I don't know why.

I've been reading up on recent complaints on Twitter and it looks like they turn spiteful when you try to leave them, ie cancelling direct debits without notice, not refunding, refusing to accept that you want to leave. They never even signed off my switch when I joined them so I had to get the Energy Club to do it manually for me.

At the moment they are still the cheapest for me by quite a long way (bearing in mind I don't have a year's readings to guestimate with anyway) so until the prices change on October 7th I don't know who will be better for me if anyone. Despite telling me just how much my bills are apparently going up by, even though I don't have that consistent history, they also haven't told me how much my DD's will change by. Maybe they won't, Maybe it'll just suddenly appear on my bank account one day.

This company are reckless and if they're in business in 6 months I'll be surprised. Has anyone had these experiences and managed to play them at their own game because I definitely feel nervous as my account racks up credit.
